Ginn Racing Facility Addition
Mooresville, North Carolina

Project Summary
The new 5,000 square foot addition was constructed using conventional steel frame with a precast exterior to match the existing facility and houses gear rooms, shock rooms, a specialty enclosure for a hydraulic simulator machine called a "Seven Post" and its adjoining Control Room.  The Seven Post equipment required a pit approximately  20' wide x 37' long x 13' deep to house the equipment.  The pit contains the computer-controlled equipment, a chilled water cooling system that controls the temperature of the equipment from an outside chiller, power and compressed air.  The Control Room is adjacent to and overlooks the pit room and contains electric controllers and data connections to the pit.  The purpose of the Seven Post equipment is to simulate the dynamic loads placed on a car for the duration of a race.  The computer is able to simulate specific race tracks and allows the suspension and car alignment  to be optimize for performance on each track.
